Widening participation

Central Saint Martins is located in the centre of London and attracts a large and diverse range of students to a comprehensive portfolio of courses in the design, communication, visual and performing arts, from foundation level study to PhD and research.
We believe that our success depends on the diversity of our student body and encourage students from all backgrounds, including students whose families have no previous history of higher education, students from under-represented socio-economic groups and minority ethnic group participation (particularly from black and Asian students), to apply. We constantly monitor participation by gender and are increasing support for students with disability.
We attend many further and higher education fairs throughout the UK to publicise the college and the career possibilities in the arts and design. Tours of the College and taster courses can be organised for groups of school students. Such visits help increase awareness of the variety of courses and disciplines that can be studies in art and design. They are also a good opportunity to share experiences with students on our courses and ask questions of tutors to help demystify university education in the arts.
