Plastic Jewellery
Sarah King
Plastics are a versatile and exciting range of materials for use in contemporary jewellery. In this course you will experiment with a variety of different types exploring their creative potential and their technical limitations enabling you to understand which most suit your interests. There will be guided experimentation that also allows for individual design input. You will look at constuction, casting, moulding and dyeing. Silver will be used for construction details and findings but we will not be soldering. Many of the processes will not need alot of specialist equipment, especially for those with jewellery hand tools. We will look at the amazing range of work in plastics by leading contemporary jewellers and help will be given with sourcing materials. It is a course suitable for complete beginners or those with some jewellery experience.
Sarah King is an established jeweller having sold her work through department stores such at Liberty and Barneys, New York and boutiques such as Ec one and The Cross.
