Conceptual Drawing for Architects and Designers

Conceptual Drawing for Architects and Designers

Eiffel Wong Dip(Des) AA Dipl ARB RIBA, Jenny Sieg BA (Hons) Dipl-Ing

The aim of the course is to identify the relationship between your profession and architectural spaces, exploring body to object, room to building and urbanscape to landscape. You will build your knowledge of the effect of these architectural spaces on your discipline. The course will involve research, analysis and proposal development. You will be assisted to express intangible ideas covering cultural, social or intellectual issues, and how to choose the appropriate medium when illustrating specific ideas. Individual projects will be developed within small teams by the end of the course. Drawing types covered on the course (though not necessarily by each individual) include exploded axonometric drawing, exploded perspective, panoramic perspective, composite drawing, photomontage and collage - both by hand and on the computer. This course is for those who have taken Architectural Drawing for Beginners or for professional architects/designers.

Eiffel Wong is a visiting tutor on the MA Industrial Design course at Central Saint Martins. He studied at the Architectural Association and works as an architect and a designer in his own practice in Berlin, Hong Kong and London.

Jenny Sieg is an architect and designer with her own practice. She studied and worked in Berlin and London. Her dissertation was nominated into The Royal Institute of British Architects President's Medals 2000. She has been involved in teaching at universities in both Berlin and London since 2002.
