Architectural Drawing for Beginners

Eiffel Wong Dip(Des) AA Dipl ARB RIBA, Jenny Sieg BA (Hons) Dipl-Ing

This is a technical drawing workshop which explores the basic understanding of space and architecture. The course is aimed at all those interested in a future career in architecture, or those new to the discipline who need a refresher in a creative environment. You will begin with carrying out surveys and research, then learn how to analyse your investigations towards creating a design proposal. Throughout the two weeks you will develop fundamental drawing skills so that you can employ the most appropriate medium for illustrating specific architectural ideas. It will cover a variety of different drawing types including plans, elevations, sections, details, axonometric, perspectives and collage - all done by hand. An individual project will be developed by the end of the course which could be used to begin a portfolio for applying to study architecture.
