Architectural Drawing for Beginners - Intensive

This is a technical drawing workshop which explores the basic understandings of space and architecture. The course is aimed at all those interested in a future career in architecture, or those new to the discipline who need a refresher week in a creative environment. You will begin with carrying out surveys and research, then learn how to analyse your investigations. Throughout the week you will develop fundamental drawing skills so that you can employ the most appropriate medium for illustrating specific architectural ideas. It will cover a variety of different drawing types including plans, elevations, sections, details, axonometric - all drawn by hand. The drawings could be used to begin a portfolio for applying to study architecture.

Eiffel Wong is a visiting tutor on the MA Industrial Design course at Central Saint Martins. He studied at the Architectural Association and works as an architect and a designer in his own practice in Berlin, Hong Kong and London. Jenny Sieg is an architect and designer with her own practice. She studied and worked in Berlin and London. Her dissertation was nominated into The Royal Institute of British Architects President's Medals 2000. She has been involving in teaching at universities in both Berlin and London since 2002.

Please bring the following items:

    * 10 x A1 drawing paper (594x84mm)
    * 30 x A3 drawing paper (420x297mm), semi-transparent and white/ tracing paper.
    * Important drawing tools:
    * F pencil (between H and B pencil)
    * Pen 0.1,0.2,0.3,0.5,0.8
    * Scale ruler, showing 1:10, 1:50, 1:100, 1:200.etc
    * 45º Set square 25 cm, 30º Set square 30 cm, rubber, masking tape.
    * Cutter / scissors, glue.
    * Measuring Tape
    * Circular Template
