Foundation in Singing and Voice

Foundation in Singing and Voice

Zabarjad Salam

Through both group and individual work, a wide variety of exercises will be used to help develop vocal technique and confidence and creatively explore the voice for singers and speakers. Simple analysis of varying speech and singing styles will be discussed and investigated through both formal and improvised methods. This will help to increase understanding of the potential power and expressive range of the human voice. This course aims to increase vocal freedom and energy in both the sung and spoken word, whether for personal development or professional practice for singers, actors and public speakers. By the end of the course you will have gained an insight into new sound worlds and a developing awareness of your vocal possibilities. Ursula encourages an experimental attitude in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and you do not need to have any formal vocal experience to do the course. This course could be combined with the afternoon 'Become a Method Actor' course.
