Ballet - Intermediate

This course is for dancers who have completed the Beginners course to a satisfactory standard, or studied Ballet to an intermediate level previously. The course will help you work on your strength, stamina and flexibility during the barre work. Concentrating on the beauty of line, focus balance and control in the ports de bras, and adagio. In the petit allegro you will be working on the physical memory and technique, and dance on the diagonal with pirouettes and grand allegro and have short choreography for the different sections. This course is suitable for anyone over 18 who would like to progress in classical ballet. You will be taught in a safe, non-competitive and supportive environment. The course runs for an hour and a half on Monday and Thursday evenings enabling you to build up your fitness and stamina over a ten-week period.

Trained at the Royal Ballet School, Glen Snowden has toured extensively with ballet companies in Europe, North America and South East Asia. Recent choreographic engagements include The Bacchae for Thiasos Theatre Company performed in the amphitheatres of Pafos and Limassol (Cyprus); La Cenerentola for English Pocket Opera; The Saint of Bleecker Street for Trinity College of Music; teaching historical dance in Tokyo and a recent ballet, Von Ewiger Liebe to music by Johannes Brahms. Future choreographic engagements include a ballet to Bach cantatas.
