Digital Photography - Intermediate
David Mansell
This course is suitable for students who have already mastered the fundamental creative controls of their digital cameras and wish to progress to a more project-oriented course, similar in style to the BA Graphic Design photography module at Central Saint Martins. You will undertake a series of short, challenging briefs and learn professional photo-editing skills in Adobe Photoshop plus attend lectures on composition and lighting. There will also be group critiques, a small research project and presentations intended to increase your awareness of photography and how it is used in context. With the support of your tutors and peers this friendly and informal course will help you understand the value of developing a personal point of view in your photographic work. This course is best suited to students with digital SLR cameras and advanced 'compacts' with manual controls.
David Mansell graduated with a BA hons degree in Graphic Design from St Martins School of Art in 1973.
He has taught photography part time to students of all ages and at all levels, whilst pursuing his career as an awarding winning freelance editorial photographer working mainly for The Observer and The Guardian Newspapers.
