This course will teach young photographers the practice as well as theory of reportage photography, giving great emphasis to photographic narrative. With the help of the tutor, students will select several topics of their choice, then prepare photographic sessions, shoot and finally edit their own work. They will finally present their work to the class. Practical topics will include; the decisive moment, working with available light, supplementing sunlight with artificial light, using reflectors, using monopods and tripods, photographing action and selecting and presenting photo-essays. Students are asked to bring their own photographic equipment. The course do not include processing and printing.

Giulio Mazzarini is a photographer and art director working in both the UK and Italy. His work includes fashion, portrait and reportage photography for clients such as Vanity Fair and Reebok. For more information visit www.gmazzarini.com
