Music Artwork, Branding and Packaging

Music Artwork, Branding and Packaging

Sabine Fasching

With the music industry ever changing, a new design approach must be taken. From the near loss of the 12in canvas to the rise of expensive 'Special Editions' and cover artwork for the i-phone - thinking outside the box is in demand. This course requires no previous design knowledge but an open mind to the creative process and new ways of thinking. You will be designing record sleeves, tour merchandise and think about ways of marketing the band. Students will be encouraged to use new and unexpected mediums to create memorable design solutions, whilst having a close look at the history of record sleeves.

Sabine Fasching graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2006 and straight out of college got a position at the London design studio Farrow. She has since worked on a wide range of projects from music packaging, branding, art direction, web design to restaurant interiors. Designing for clients such as Sony Music, EMI, HMV and the Design Council - she set up her own studio in 2010.
