Developing Your Creativity

Developing Your Creativity

Rod Judkins

This lively, fast moving course will teach you practical, creative methods for generating ideas. It is designed to help anyone who needs simple steps to develop ways of thinking creatively. Many different techniques for generating ideas are explored in an atmosphere that is stimulating, enjoyable and supportive. In art and design, huge importance is placed on the ability to generate ideas, and individuals are judged on the quality and quantity of their ideas and the level of their conceptual thinking. But often people are not taught how to get ideas, so this course addresses the problem. The course asks many questions; what is creativity? Are there methods to create ideas? How can someone be more creative? What makes creative people creative? Do they think differently? Act differently? The techniques are examined through slide shows and talks, and then put into practice to solve various creative projects. You will work individually and in groups to aid the flow of ideas, and will leave with the confidence to produce multiple solutions in creative situations.

Rod Judkins is a London-based fine artist. Since graduating from the Royal College of Art he has had numerous solo exhibitions in London and abroad. He teaches on conceptual-thinking seminars at many colleges.
