The Ideas Course

The Ideas Course

Caroline Southard

All those who work creatively, whether designers, artists or writers, need to generate ideas when working on their own or with others. This course focuses on the structure, play and exploration of the creative process. It combines presentations, exercises and projects, concentrating on creating an environment in which creativity can happen, teaching techniques which are productive and fun, making new connections in our patterns of work and thought, and helping us become aware of thinking patterns, both our own and those found in formal and informal organisations. Applicants for this course whose first language is not English should note that they must be proficient in written and spoken English. A good understanding of English is required for you to benefit from this course and be able to fully participate in group discussions and presentations.

Caroline Southard has over 15 years of experience as a creativity and innovation consultant working in diverse creative industries.   She has worked with some of the UK's largest companies to develop highly successful products & services and to increase the creativity and innovation capability of their people.  Graduating from Music College in the mid 90s, she started out in the Arts, working as a professional musician and also as an Arts Marketer at the BBC Proms and Musicians Benevolent Fund.  Caroline combines her unique experience in the Arts and the commercial world, running The Creative Connection www.thecreativeconnection.org.uk, which champions co-creation as a new direction for enterprise, encouraging and facilitating collaboration between the arts, business and other organisations.
