Cool Hunting
Carol Morgan
Throughout this course you will be immersed in London life and all that makes the city a cool and vibrant place to be. You will see London as a source of inspiration, exploring the culture that will be significant in global trends, making informed artistic choices and researching current and future markets. You can ask yourself questions about where the next generation of artists and designers are generating their ideas, how places once cool are now out of date and where the in-crowd are hanging out. The places you will visit will include art, culture, architecture, history, landscape, food, shopping and music. You will visit relevant exhibitions and museums, and discover places that will not be found in the guidebook. You will experience London from a multi-disciplined design perspective, so if you are interested in trends, both past and future, and wish to develop your research skills then this course will be ideal. The objective of the course is to experience London with a like-minded group and to gain confidence in expressing and experimenting with your ideas. The course is therefore aimed at those who have a natural curiosity, like travel and have an interest in design and fashion.
Carol Morgan trained in textiles and is an Associate lecturer on the BA Fashion Communication and Promotion course at Central Saint Martins.
