Portfolio Preparation for Foundation - Graphic Design
Tim Meara and others
Are you considering applying to a Foundation course at Central Saint Martins or elsewhere but need to develop your portfolio? Do you need one-to-one tuition in graphic design by a tutor who understands the application process? Regardless of your age, experience or ability this course is an excellent place to begin. On this course you will carry out a variety of projects related to drawing, illustration, advertising and design skills. Over the ten weeks you will produce work for your portfolio during class time and, more importantly, through a series of stimulating homeworks and design briefs, with continual guidance from your tutor will improve your technical and idea generation skills. This is an opportunity to sample a taste of a Foundation course at art school whilst you follow the discipline area that interests you the most. The last session will be devoted to presenting your completed portfolio to your tutors, and an offer of a place at Central Saint Martins will be made to those students who have reached the required level and shown dedication to their subject.
Tim Meara is a tutor on the Foundation course at Central Saint Martins.
