Getting Your Children's Book Published

Getting Your Children's Book Published

April Wilson BA

Are you a confident illustrator with an interest in story telling who would like to see your ideas published? Perhaps you have completed a Children's Book Illustration course or have worked professionally as an illustrator and now want to develop your ideas ready to present to a publisher. This course will help you to understand and work through the stages required to produce a picture book mock-up of a sufficiently professional standard to be worthy of presenting to a publisher. These stages will include; storyboards, written overviews, story outlines, roughs, text positioning, final illustrations, covers, choosing the right publisher and presentation. You will be asked to bring your ideas and any illustrations you may have done to the course ready for further professional development. It is necessary to feel very comfortable with drawing as this is our chief means of communicating when using storyboards, and you will also need to arrive with a chosen 'illustration style'.

April Wilson is an artist and illustrator who has written and illustrated many children's books. To find out more about April's work, and this course, please visit her website www.april-wilson.com
