Children's Book Illustration - Advanced
April Wilson BA
This would be an obvious follow-on course for anyone who has attended 'Children's Book Illustration', but could equally be just the confidence builder needed for those with a defined illustration style who wish to improve their skills before creating a book of their own. The objective of this course is to learn how to create a picture book through illustration. The aim is to provide you with the necessary skills and confidence to realise this. This is achieved through a series of advanced exercises which include: character creation and development both in 2D and in mixed media 3D, drawing facial expressions generated by these characters, creating a storyboard from a given text, book concept and design, composition and text placement. Ideas will be expressed through drawing and storyboarding throughout the course.
April Wilson is an artist and illustrator who has written and illustrated many children's books. To find out more about April's work, and this course, please visit her website www.april-wilson.com
