Foundation Drawing School
Bettina Reiber
This is a drawing school designed for home or overseas students coming to study on Foundation at either Central Saint Martins or any other college who would benefit from extra drawing experience. Drawing is the starting point for all areas of art and design. It can convey an idea, create an atmosphere, describe the appearance of things, express emotions, record events and solve creative problems. The course enables students to develop a language of drawing which will equip them to start a demanding foundation course with extra skills and confidence. Students who have attended this course in previous years have been given a flying start to the busy foundation year. Each day of the course deals with different areas of drawing such as life drawing, still life, drawing for research and visual thinking.
Bettina Reiber is a practising artist, who works mostly in painting and drawing. Some of her work is based on collaborations. She is a curator and exhibits widely. She publishes papers on aesthetics and art theory. She holds a BA Fine Art (painting) from Central Saint Martins and an MA in Aesthetics and Art Theory.
