Sculpture: 2D to 3D
Jonathan Gildersleeves
This course focuses on the relationship between drawing and sculpture. It is designed for anyone interested in 2D and 3D form, from beginners to those with experience. The course will enable you to explore simple, experimental methods of drawing and sculpture with guidance from your tutor, using a variety of materials including pencil, charcoal, oil pastels, paint, paper, card, wood and found materials. You will be encouraged to express and develop your own ideas and concepts through basic materials and practical processes, short tasks and projects, which will be undertaken both individually and within groups. The course is designed to help you to identify and work creatively with the fundamentals of drawing and sculpture to produce exciting, intuitive work.
Jonathan Gildersleeves is a practicing artist who exhibits both in the UK and internationally. A Masters graduate from Wimbledon College of Art, he has worked as technical assistant to Sir Anthony Caro OM and teaches Fine Art at a range of levels.
