Painting the Nude

Painting the Nude

Michael Major MA (RCA)

This course will enable students to combine a variety of historical and contemporary approaches when painting the nude. You will complete many medium size canvases in oil or acrylic that contain all the richness and subtlety of paint and colour, together with some exotic, lush backdrops. You will work from a nude model to investigate colour and technique, and would will become aware of the emotional power of colour and how to increase the expressive content of your painting through the handling of the paint.

Michael Major is a painter living, working and exhibiting in London. Visit his website at www.michael-major.co.uk for more information.
