Painting and Personal Inspiration
Guy Noble
'What the world looks like' is an aspect of all artists work. As the world changes with time it is both necessary and exciting for another generation to get involved in producing images. This course is designed for those who are just beginning or who have had some experience but need to refresh their creative approach. The course will introduce you to the creation of paintings inspired by everyday personal experience and the way your imagination plays a part in recreating these perceptions. A wide range of subjects and approaches will appear in various projects throughout the course. You will explore still life, interiors, the figure, and the city through drawing and painting supported by your own research through photography, note-taking and found images and objects. Together with Guy you will look at certain artists that have relevance to the projects you are engaged in so that you become familiar with the language of painting. Situations or images that have caught your eye will be the starting point for all the projects. Transforming this encounter into a finished painting will work alongside gaining knowledge of both materials and art history.
Guy Noble is a practising artist who has exhibited internationally. He studied at the Byam Shaw and in Spain and Italy. For more information go to www.guynoble.com or his page on Facebook
