Afternoon Life Drawing

Afternoon Life Drawing

Roger Gill BA (Hons)

This is about seeing the figure in a particularly individualistic way, and how best you can translate that 'seeing' with the use of charcoal, pencils, soft pastels, oil pastels, inks and acrylics into 'drawing'. There will be a variety of exercises throughout the course that will encourage experimentation, risk taking, and most importantly, the ability to see. The objective is to start, improve and develop your drawings whilst making them dynamic, powerful and spontaneous. Some colour will be introduced during the latter stages of the course. It is not necessary to have practical experience to join the course. All that is required is that you allow yourself to forget what you think you know and let your eyes and hands do the rest.

Roger Gill is an artist and freelance tutor who works in London and who has exhibited in the UK and Europe. See www.rogergill.org.
