Beginners Drawing

Alice White

Structured around the life model, this course will introduce materials, mark-making techniques, the study of human proportion and compositional skills, together with instruction on the use of drawing inks (both with the nib and the brush) crucial for those who wish to continue onto exploring painting and further drawing techniques. Experimentation and individual development are encouraged at all times. The aim of this course is to provide you with skills fundamental in the understanding of your tools and approach, and will culminate in the study of combined practice, in which all acquired techniques are bought together, forming a basis for the further development and creation of your artwork. Absolute beginners are welcome, as are those who wish to strengthen their portfolio application to further studies. It is essential that students attend the first session for an introduction to the course and an in-depth lecture on materials and practice.

Alice White is a graduate of Chelsea College of Art. She works exclusively from the figure and has exhibited widely across London. Her work can also be found in a number of private collections.
