Exploring Artists' London

Exploring Artists' London

Craig Kao

The aim of the course is to provide an exciting insight into the most vibrant art circles in London and help you to make connections with galleries and artists. The course will take you on a journey from West to East London. You will discuss and exchange ideas about different aspects of the gallery system and curating decisions, and you will see the part that art galleries play in our everyday lives. You will be taken off the tourist trail to visit cult project spaces and galleries and have a chance to start dialogues with gallery directors and curators. You will walk into little alleyways and enter rusty garages to discover the life of fine artists across painting, sculpture, video and further fields. See how they create fiction and narrative around their space and art work. By the end of the course you will have carved a unique track through the London art scene, knowing where things are and who's who. You will become your own fine art guru and you will increase your pleasure in appreciating contemporary art. The course is very open, no previous art knowledge required, and is suitable for anyone interested in London art themes at any level.
