Introduction to Drawing

Guy Noble

"A picture is something that requires as much trickery, malice, and vice as the perpetration of crime, so create falsity and add a touch from nature." Degas

Drawing is one of the most exciting, rewarding and primitive activities known to man.  We can all draw.  The aim of this course is to demystify the process of drawing. Designed for total beginners and those who would like to refresh their understanding of drawing, it seeks to equip the student with a working knowledge of a range of basic practical and conceptual skills. Materials, methods, composition, space, form, the subject, the object and the figure will all be covered.  This fast paced course will consist entirely of practical studio work. Instead of boring slide shows, the students will break occasionally to see slides of artist's drawings that are relevant to the work they are doing. This not only helps them understand how they can improve but also brings to life the work of great artists.

Guy Noble is a practising artist who has exhibited internationally. He studied at the Byam Shaw and in Spain and Italy. For more information go to www.guynoble.com or his page on Facebook
