Life Studies for 16 to 18 Year Olds

Claire Robertson

When viewing portfolios for further fine art education, academic staff are often looking for keen observational and life study skills, with a unique and diverse range of approaches that sets a portfolio out from others. This course is for any student considering further study within the arts and is a great opportunity to hone your visual skills and develop new confidence in your abilities. Working from the model in charcoal, collage, acrylic paint and simple mono-print we will explore a variety of energetic exercises around mark-making, perspective and composition. Come prepared to think differently about what you see, and expect to leave with some great work for your portfolio.

Claire Robertson teaches on the Fashion Communication and Promotion BA at Central Saint Martins.  She photographs in the film backstage at fashion shows of various designers such as Kenzo, Maison Margiela, McQueen, Viktor+Rolf with work puplished in both print and on-line.   She is an experienced drawing tutor at Central Saint Martins and London College of Fashion.
