Machine Knitting with Dyeing
Alice Wellbeloved
This two week course is an expedition into the world of yarns, dyeing and knitting! It would be ideally suited to students with an interest in the crossover between Textiles and Fashion. You will firstly be introduced to yarns and dyeing: You will learn how to hank up and prepare yarn for dying, how to mix colours and a variety of different techniques including Shibori.
When you have prepared your yarns, you will be ready to knit with them! You will be taught many different stitches and techniques on the manual knitting machine, with an emphasis on creativity and experimentation with colour, composition and yarn mixing.
Yarns will be provided.
