Dyeing for Fashion and Textiles

Dyeing for Fashion and Textiles

June Fish

This course will explore traditional dye techniques and materials, interpreted in a more contemporary look. The workshops will combine a fun, hands-on approach to create exciting and experimental samples, using a range of processes such as shibori, resist methods, ombre, cross dyeing, indigo dyeing and hand painting. This will be backed up with important practical knowledge on fabric and dye categories, colour inspiration, and design direction. We will be using a variety of synthetic and natural dyes on a range of natural and man-made fabrics.

June Fish works on BA and MA Textiles courses at Central Saint Martins, and has recently had a book published called 'Designing and Printing Textiles'.
