PR and Your Fashion Label

This course is designed as an introduction to PR and wholesale of a fashion label. You will be invited to bring along your own fashions to work on as a real business opportunity or else work on a mock brief should you be looking to work for an existing company. You will begin by identifying the biography of the label which will inform your look-book and press release as you plan your launch event. You will understand the different media available to you and the PR and wholesale events that you will need to be a part of. You will investigate how stylists and journalists can work to your benefit, and how to create a buyer's pack. At the end of the course you will present your work and business plan to the group for final critique, and you will leave with a clear direction for your work.

Si Beales is a writer, creative marketing consultant and fashion lecturer. He has written for The Guardian, Vogue and Draper's amongst others and worked with brands such as Nike, Adidas and Canon . Si lectures in fashion management and communications and was formerly MD of luxury label, Sarah Arnett, which sold in over 100 stores internationally and won the UK Fashion Export award in 2007.
