Improve Your Fashion Drawing
Maggie Doyle
This exciting course is ideal for those wanting to develop a more personalised style of drawing. Emphasis will be placed on experimentation while focusing on the fashion designer's objective to communicate clearly the design idea/concept. You will visit the Victoria and Albert Museum and include evidence of research from the costume department in your sketchbook. You will be encouraged to explore a range of art media and to understand the importance of layout. Through analytical observation, experimentation, workshop and independent practice, combined with personal tuition, the course aims to improve confidence and enable participants to express their creativity in a more individual way. You will need some experience of fashion design and fashion drawing. This course is especially suitable for those with 'rusty' drawing skills. Please bring examples of your work to the first session. Those new to fashion illustration may find it useful to take the Fashion Drawing for Absolute Beginners course before this one.
Maggie has designed for many years in Paris, both in ready to wear and haute couture. She also taught for over ten years at Esmod in Paris and Lyon. She is currently teaching at Croydon College.
