Vintage Clutch Bags and Framed Purses 1
Rowena Luke-King
During this course you will make vintage style clutch bags whilst being introduced to a range of fabric bag making techniques. Starting with a basic envelope style clutch with magnetic fastener you will learn how to make patterns for backings and linings, add pockets, insert piping and practice using the colleges industrial sewing machines whilst customising fabrics with machine quilting, appliqué and reverse pleating to give a more vintage look. Once finished you will learn how to make a pattern for a framed purse.
You will be shown how to adapt this pattern to create your own design; test your pattern in calico and complete the course by producing a vintage style, framed clutch bag and matching coin purse.
No previous experience is needed for this course which is suitable for both beginners and more experienced bag makers.
