Digital Fashion Illustration and Communication
Riz Smith
Fashion illustration and communication have evolved with the rise of digital technology and mass availability of powerful digital tools. Communicating fashion concepts, collections or illustrations has become a crucial step when the time between initial idea and actual apparel delivery is shorter than ever. Designers have less opportunity to nurture a creative idea and must literally at first stroke envision what a design will really look like. Communicating and visualising a fashion creative direction or concept is a skill, which all designers should possess and develop to ensure strong representation of their ideas in a highly competitive world. The course will help you to develop skills to create and deliver strong visuals, illustrations and fashion stories using applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. The course is aimed at designers with strong vision and at illustrators wanting to update their style. Beginners are welcomed but a good grasp of working with a computer is a bonus.
Riz Smith is a British menswear designer, based in London. Commercially Riz has seen a successful career spanning from bags and accessories through to beachwear and casual wear. Experienced in evolving ideas from concept and managing the design process through to final production.
