Fashion Design for 16 - 18 Year Olds

Fashion Design for 16 - 18 Year Olds

Jane Francis BA (Hons), MA

This is an opportunity for students who have a 'passion for fashion' and would like to know more! The course is a taster of what studying Fashion Design in the world famous Central Saint Martins is like. The course is project-based and encourages the development of ideas, experimentation and an open approach to what fashion is. We explore all aspects of the design process concluding in a 2D and 3D presentation. This course does not include patternmaking or sewing. Advice is given on portfolio preparation and what students can expect of a fashion-led foundation course and further study at degree level. Included in the course will be a research visit to a central London museum or gallery.

Jane Francis is a long standing short course tutor at Central Saint Martins and London College of Fashion. She is also a design practitioner working with international fashion brands and designers.
