Fashion Accessories and Shoes for 16 - 18 Year Olds

Fashion Accessories and Shoes for 16 - 18 Year Olds

Jane Francis BA (Hons), MA

To achieve a total look in fashion, nothing is more important than accessories. Fashion jewellery, shoes, bags, and hats offer creative design and craft potential without restriction. This course offers students the opportunity to discover the possibilities and career options further study in this specialised area of fashion offers. The course is project and workshop based, where emphasis is placed on making, creative development and experimentation.

You will be introduced to basic techniques to create your own designs and 3D prototypes. From 'junk to jewellery', innovative uses of materials and processes will be encouraged. One day will be allocated to research, when the group will visit a central London museum. Advice will be given on presentation of ideas for your portfolio preparation and what you should expect from further study in Fashion Accessories, Footwear or Jewellery on a Foundation Course or at Degree level.

Jane Francis is a Senior Lecturer at Central Saint Martins and London College of Fashion. She is also a design practitioner working with international fashion brands and designers.
