Laser Cutting for Textile Design
Laura Baker
This course begins with taking line drawings into Illustrator and turning them into designs that can be laser cut into a variety of fabrics including wools, velvets, leather, suede and plastic. Students will receive individual tuition, encouragement and technical support. Starting with both hand drawings to be taken to the computer and designing from scratch on the computer, students will work on a variety of designs in a range of fabrics and will finish with a comprehensive portfolio of laser cut samples and pieces. The work produced on this course will make an exciting and unique addition to a portfolio and will offer a new dimension to your existing textile abilities.
Laura Baker is an experienced tutor on the BA Textile Design course at Central Saint Martins.
