Portfolio Preparation for Foundation - Fashion and Textiles
Jo Simpson
Are you considering applying to a Foundation course at Central Saint Martins or elsewhere but need to develop your portfolio? Do you need one-to-one tuition in fashion and textiles by a tutor who understands the application process? Regardless of your age, experience or ability this course is an excellent place to begin. On this course you will carry out a variety of projects related to fashion design, research, illustration, basic draping and textile design. Over the ten weeks you will produce work for your portfolio during class time and, more importantly, through a series of stimulating homeworks, with continual guidance from your tutor who will help you improve your technical skills along with developing your creativity. This is an opportunity to sample a taste of a Foundation course at art school whilst you follow the discipline area that interests you the most. The last session will be devoted to presenting your completed portfolio to your tutors, and an offer of a place at Central Saint Martins will be made to those students who have reached the required level and shown dedication to their subject.
