Deconstructing Fashion

Deconstructing Fashion

Natalie Born-Westin

This course is for anyone who enjoys working with old garments and creating something completely new out of them. You will be given new and old garments and will be asked to source trims, fabrics and buttons for experimentation on the dummy by draping, cutting and sewing. You will make and also gain diverse design ideas, as well as techniques, for an outfit or even several pieces. We will discuss and document the creative process at several stages. Please note that this is not a dressmaking course.

Natalie Born-Westin studied Fashion Design Womenswear at Central Saint Martins. She has several years experience in designing and making high fashion. She currently works as a freelance designer in the fashion industry.
