The textile design industry is changing rapidly with design methods widening to include working on fabric as well as on paper. This course explores design concepts, working with dyed and printed fabrics and with finishing and surface treatments. The course is aimed at designers who want to improve or diversify their design portfolio, adapt their skills or learn new ones. You will look at new techniques in textile technology including pleating, crushing, creasing, shibori, embossing, coating, bonding, lamination and burn-out combined with resist methods.

Margaret Campbell studied fashion print at BA and MA level at Central Saint Martins. She now teaches on these courses and works as a freelance textile designer.
