Introduction to Experimental and Explorative Approaches
Central Saint Martins is renowned for its innovative and open-minded approach to the creative process. This short intensive course explores some unconventional and inventive approaches to patternmaking and shape creation.Tutor led demonstrations will provide the starting point from which to practice and develop your skills and aesthetic sensibilities. Some knowledge of patternmaking would be useful to follow this programme. The ability to use a sewing machine is essential if you are to benefit from this course. It is also essential you come to this course with an open mind, be willing to experiment and take risks. Part 1 is suitable for students with a basic understanding of pattern cutting.
Patrick Lee Yow is an Associate Lecturer on the BA and MA Fashion courses at Central Saint Martins and works as a freelance designer.
