  • Moment One celebrates the relocation of Central Saint Martins College of Arts & Design to King's Cross, heralding a new era in arts education.

    For more than 150 years, Central Saint Martins has pioneered radical innovations in arts, design and performance.  Its influence feeds into the arts education system, culture, industry, and mainstream society.  This is felt across the world, contributing to the high international value placed on British culture and creativity. Generations of internationally renowned artists, designers and performers began their creative journeys here. Their work has defined and transformed our times.

    On the 18 November, alumni and industry figures from music, fashion, art, design, literature and performance come together to launch the new King's Cross building for Central Saint Martins current students.  The evening delivers a series of venues:  

    Island Records present Clock Opera, Jess Mills, King Charles, and Tom Vek , plus A History of Island Records Exhibition and the Seamus Murphy directed suite of PJ Harvey's Mercury award winning album 'Let England Shake' films in Kinoscope.  

    The London Comedy Film Festival & Time Out Lounge delivers panel discussion and screenings with actors, directors, and writers; headlining this stage are The Inbetweeners.


  • Heavenly Records & Artrocker curate The Refectory, with live sets from TEETH, Toy, Factory Floor, Replicas, Stealing Sheep, Joseph Coward, Maria And The Mirrors, plus DJs Tim Burgess, Sonic Boom, Justin Robertson.  

    The Art and Design Parlour welcomes fashion designers Hussein Chalayan MBE, Stephen Jones OBE, Turner-Prize winning artist Mark Wallinger, the architect David Adjaye OBEin conversation with Peter Adjaye (African Metropolitan Music Compilation) and Paolo Hewitt launching his latest book 'Fab Gear: The Beatles & Fashion'.

    The Faber Social visit Central Saint Martins and presents readings from acclaimed novelists Joe Dunthorne, Richard Milward, Gwendoline Riley, Kamila Shamsie, Rupert Thomson plus panel discussions on Music Writing / Photography / Graphic & Product Design.  Guests include Rob Young, Bob Stanley (Saint Etienne), Barney Hoskyns, Nick Kent, Jude Rogers, Adrian Shaughnessy (Chair), Laurence Bell (Domino), Kevin Cummins, Bob Gruen, and Vaughan Oliver (4AD). In the same space, Beth Hirsch sings tracks from Air's classic 'Moon Safari' album.

    Sponsored Street Stalls by Busaba Eathai, The Secret Society Of Vegans, Pistonhead Lager, Briska Cider, Marley's Mellow Mood and The Guardian line The Street, while Rough Trade Shops & Foyles host signings with artists and designers. Soundtrack to The Street provided by Red Bull Music Academy in association with Boiler Room DJ Stage.
