It is your responsibility to book your own travel to Milan. We recommend you make these arrangements soon after you have received your final confirmation of your booking (about four weeks before the course starts) to ensure that you find the best price at the time you want to fly. Some carriers allow cheap one way fares and returns from other destinations without supplements (good to know, if you want to visit other countries after your course).
By plane:
Flights to Milan take about 2 hours. There are scheduled flights from London Heathrow and London Gatwick by British Airways and Alitalia to both Milano Linate and Milano Malpensa Airports. There are also regular scheduled flights by the low-cost carrier Easyjet from London Gatwick airport to Milano Linate. Alitalia/Air One also operate London City Airport to Milan Linate. Ryanair has regular flights from London Luton and London Stansted Airports to Milano Bergamo Orio al Serio Airport. For further information go to:
The website www.skyscanner.net gives a comparison of all flight times and prices on a given route for scheduled and low cost carriers.
Alternatives to flights take longer and may not always be cheaper but you do get to see France on the way as both routes involve changing in Paris.
By train:
Long distance trains from London Saint Pancras (Eurostar) via Paris to Milano Centrale take around ten hours.
By bus:
Long distance overnight express coach from London Victoria (via Paris) takes about nineteen hours to Milano Porta Garibaldi coach station.
