Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti (NABA)

NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti Milano, was the first and is the largest and most innovative private Academy recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research. NABA undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in visual arts, communication and design are legally recognized in Europe and the world over.

NABA was founded in 1980 by a group of renowned artists with a mission to foster contemporary visions and practices within high art education. We cultivate the creativity of our students, and help them turn their artistic passion into a fulfilling, productive profession. Our training methodology thoroughly integrates classroom study with experiential workshops.

Our professors are highly skilled educators who are also practicing art and design professionals. Our multidisciplinary approach combines traditional visual disciplines with new digital technologies, and synthesizes individual study with group project work. Projects are developed in collaboration with Italian and foreign companies and institutions, to give students hands-on workplace opportunities and to develop their critical thinking, conceptual problem-solving, and practical artistic and design skills.

Among our 1800 students, 20% come from almost 50 different foreign countries, so the NABA community benefits from a broad diversity of cultures and ideas.  In late 2009, NABA became part of Laureate International Universities, a global network of more than 54 accredited institutions offering undergraduate and graduate degrees to over 650,000 students around the world.

NABA campus covers an area of 6500 m2 and is located in the Navigli area, one of the liveliest districts of the city.
