Whichever Central Saint Martins course you choose, please read these notes before submitting your application

How can I get an application form?

Foundation: Applications to all foundation courses should be made direct to the college. You can download an application pack from our website at www.csm.arts.ac.uk
Undergraduate: Applications for full-time undergraduate courses should be made online through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) and not to Central Saint Martins. For more information contact UCAS: tel +44 (0)870 112211, www.ucas.ac.uk
However, applications for the part-time BA (Honours) Fine Art course should be made direct to the College. Download an application pack from the course page.
Postgraduate: Applications to all postgraduate courses should be made direct to the College.

When should I apply?

Foundation: The applications deadline for our full-time foundation courses is 29 January.
Undergraduate: For the majority of our undergraduate courses the deadline date is 15 January for Home/EU via UCAS.
Postgraduate Deadlines for our postgraduate courses vary. Please check the deadline specific to the course you want by visiting the relevant course page.

What qualifications do I need?

Foundation: The standard minimum entry requirements for foundation diplomas are 1 A-level and 3 passes in additional subjects at GCSE at grade C or above or equivalent.
Undergraduate: The standard minimum entry requirements for our undergraduate courses are 2 A-levels and 3 passes in additional subjects at GCSE at grade C or above or equivalent. Please check specific course entry requirements to find out whether additional qualifications are required.
Postgraduate The standard minimum entry requirement for postgraduate courses is undergraduate degree or equivalent.

I have no formal qualifications - can I still apply?

Foundation/Undergraduate/Postgraduate: Yes. We welcome applications from candidates without formal qualifications who can demonstrate equivalent skill, knowledge and ability gained through work or life experiences.

I am an international student - how do I apply?

Foundation: You can apply in two ways - directly to our international office or via the college's overseas representatives. You must submit a portfolio in support of your application. If you are applying from overseas you should make a postal application. If you are currently studying in the UK you will be invited to a portfolio review at the college. Undergraduate: You can apply directly to our international office or via one of our overseas representatives. We consider direct applications throughout the year and can review your work and give you advice without time constraints. If you are unsuccessful in your first choice, we can forward your application to other relevant courses within the University of the Arts London. If you are applying from overseas you can make a postal application. If you are currently studying in the UK you will be invited to a portfolio review at the College. If you are applying to other UK universities in addition to the colleges within the University of the Arts London you must apply online through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) and not directly to the international office. For more information visit the UCAS website.
Postgraduate You can apply directly to our international office or via one of our overseas representatives. Each postgraduate course has its own application form, which will guide through the requirements for entry. Forms can be downloaded from our how to apply section.

What if English isn't my first language?

Foundation/Undergraduate/Postgraduate: Non-native English speakers must provide IELTS evidence of their ability in English. Please check our website for details of the IELTS requirement for your course.

When can I look around the college?

Foundation/Undergraduate/Postgraduate: All are welcome at our Open Days for potential applicants. You'll find times, dates and venues listed in our open days area.

What should be in my portfolio?

Foundation/Undergraduate/Postgraduate: We look for a presentation that demonstrates potential as well as a vigorous and creative mind. Experimental work - for example sketchbooks and notebooks - can show your thought process and imagination and should accompany your more finished and mounted work. For large pieces, photographs are acceptable. You'll find more information about what should be in your portfolio at our website.

Do I need to audition for Drama Centre London?

Foundation/Undergraduate/Postgraduate: If you're applying to Acting courses you'll be expected to perform audition pieces and may be invited to a recall process.

How much does it cost?

Foundation/Undergraduate/Postgraduate: You'll find indicative costs, for guidance only, at our website. Tuition fees must be paid in full annually before the start of your course.

What if I have a disability?

Foundation/Undergraduate/Postgraduate: Central Saint Martins welcomes applications from all students. Because we aim to support you throughout your studies we ask that you bring to our attention, as soon as possible, any special needs you may have. You can discuss these in confidence at your interview, at enrolment or at the start of your course.

If you are a home student in Higher Education you might be eligible for Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) to cover extra study related costs that arise because of your disability, including dyslexia.
